You can dump it down there but it probably has a p trap in it to keep it from stinking. Problem is they are designed for grey water not black. When you dump your trailer the water in the P trap will stink over time..

It would be a good idea to rinse trap with clean water after dumping to avoid smells however there is only one sewer. Sewer water is not seperated into gray and black water in a stick house. The water is combined once it passes the trap. Water from your kitchen sink goes to the same place as water from your toilet. These lines are connected. If you decide to dump your RV into your sanitary sewer you should rinse the lines with clean water much in the way you dump the gray tank after the black. Dumping into a trapped sanitary floor drain is not a problem providing you fill the trap with fresh water after dumping.

Thanks for all your responses. I mentioned this to my wife this morning and she agreed with 2chiefsRus who basically said, "tell your family to hold it in." I think the idea about calling the local water and sewer department to find out about a dumping site is a good one, too, and likely would be the second best option for me. Still, it sounds like, if I do my homework and determine that the garage drain empties into the sewer(which I am 99 percent certain it must)and not into a french drain, I think the garage remains a third possibility, however unlikely.

I've been on many forums over the years and have to say that this community is one of the fastest, liveliest, and most informative I've ever had the pleasure of joining.

Thanks again!

Harry
