He just wanted to prevent any waste of time giving out the information TWICE.
OR, it could be that he was really good at 'profiling', buyers vs lookers,...who knows?
In any case, it's high time to learn NOT to be impressed by anything a salesperson sez. Heck, I just look on my own, ask questions on the internet, read the factory data,.....and if I see what I want I make MY low offer, take it or leave it.

It really does not matter if you are female or male!!! If you are not looking together A sale can not be made!!! A male can not buy a rv without the wife and the female can not buy without husband!!! Ladys look at diffrent tnings than the man does it takes both! There is no dealer that I know of will give you the bottom line unless both are there they call you ONE LEGGERS you have a built in reason to leave and go check the internet and someone can always beat there deal somewhere on the internet so why would they give a ONE LEGGER the bottom line??? nough rvtommy

They bring in an outside high power, high pressure sales team, offer door prizes or other gimmicks to attracts customers or "ups" and feed you a hot dog with BS on the side. It works well on the poor "suckers" who have not done their homework before entering the dealership.
So right! I work P/T for a Chev dealer who, when he first bought the business, would bring these 'teams' in and sell a pile of cars on one weekend. I got to be pretty good friends with one of the guys as I would take them to and pick them up from the Atlanta airport. I mentioned to him that it looked like a good time for me to buy the truck I had been wanting. His words to me were, "He** no, not now. If you want a truck, wait until we are gone. You will get a better deal from the salesmen here at the dealer." This has stuck with me over the years and when I see one of these 'big sales' going on with balloons and banners haning everywhere and sales guys lined up at the door, then I keep on moving.

Have to disagree on this one, there are alot of single RV'ers out there and I have never had a dealer tell me to bring my wife back in to look. If he did, I would have went home and got my Golden Retriever and told the salesman that the decision was up to the dog, if he tells me he likes it then I'll buy it.

RVtommy, RVtommy, bottom line is, if I don't get the bottom line price weather or not my wife is with me, I'm gonna hop out on my one leg and not come back. I don't like playing price games, and when I find dealers, (cars, boats, motorcycle's) that realize this, We will always's do business again.

this is exactly what happened when compusa went under. i visited their store (next to my work) and their prices were significantly higher than they were before "liquidating" and they weren't interested in budging on prices. i think they call that paying retail (msrp)...
I was window shopping for a New Beetle in early 2002 and wanted to test drive a stick shift with everything on it but turbo...couldn't see another $2,500 for turbo. I go too fast anyway.
They told me they couldn't let me test drive it.
It was raining. I told them I planned to drive in the rain, and the sun.
They told me it was manual transmission.
I turned to walk out. They hollered to ask what they could do to get me to stay. Let me drive it. So they found another poor salesman to go with me. I hadn't driven stick in 7 years. But driving stick is driving stick and it is all in the hand/foot coordination and the feel of the clutch anyway. The salesman attempted to instruct me on driving stick. I ignored him and peeled a nice wheel out of the parking lot and drove it to see just how fast it would go. The salesman was and said I didn't think you could drive stick. Me: you assumed I couldn't.
When I drove back to the dealership he bolted out of the car and told them to sell me the car, that I already knew stick !!
Three salesmen hovered closely. They told me I could take the car home then, no problems, in my name. So I told all of them that I needed my husband to come sign his name on the dotted line with mine. The insisted that I didn't need my husband's name, just mine. I told them firmly that WE don't spend this much money without putting both names on the item. Especially if it is titled.
We waited for hubby to come an hour's drive to examine the car and pretend that he really didn't want it before signing the paperwork and driving it away.
I have taught 5 grown men how to drive stick.
Oh, don't tell me to go get my husband, or call my husband.....
My wife purchased our truck and RV, since I am still overseas, If they had given her the slightest hesitation, she would have walked. We have had this happen before, we were buying her a car, to be financed in her name, I was with her, and the salesman kept trying to address me instead of her, we walked, found another dealer and got her the car she wanted. As far as the sales team, I had never seen that, but glad I read this thread, cause now I know to run away quick
