My family and I will be traveling to Long Beach, CA in July and would like to know what RV resorts you recommend. We have stayed at both Golden Shores in Long Beach and Newport Dunes in Newport Beach. Both are very nice. Unfortunately, they are both booked for the 4th of July weekend and the following week.

We prefer full hookups including dump and cable TV. WiFi would be a big plus. So where have you stayed and what would you recommend? Thx.

So Cal covers a wide area but I'll give you a place that was reasonable and there was a lot to do in the area.
Look up Skinner Lake in Tamecula

Thanks Trailer Trash. I guess I should have specified that I would like to be as close to Long Beach as possible. Riverside County is a bit far for me, especially Temecula.

Any one else?

You may have a problem getting a reservation at this point for a holiday in the summer.
You may want to get yourself on a few lists in case of a cancellation.

you're are going to have a difficult problem finding a coastal RV park that isn't already booked up, for that time of the year.

you may have to go more inland to find something.

About the only park close to Long Beach is IN Long Beach and it's already booked.

Prime season, holiday in Southern California - you needed to reserve at LEAST 6-8 months ago!

Try Huntington State beach - they have hook up sites if I recall - had a friend camp there for a week. San Clemente is another option but that's about it. anything else is going to be too far for what you want.

You can also try the Malibu RV Park in Malibu, CA

It is not close to the ocean but you might also look at Orangeland RV Park in Anaheim, CA

I checked in our area and found the following campgrounds.

San Dimas: East Shores RV Park (909) 599-8355 Great local campground. I called and they are booked, but they said to call back and check.

Pomona: Fairplex KOA (909) 593-8915 Small campground, Great Fire works show across the street at the Fairplex.

Chino: Prado Regional Park (909) 597-4260 Probably your closest campground to Long Beach area, and would be the most like camping, I believe they even have a lake.

All these campgrounds can be found at rvparkreviews.com If you have any questions drop me a line.

Have you checked on parks in Orange County such as Garden Grove and Anaheim?

Thanks everyone for your helpful suggestions. I called around to the places suggested and of course everything is booked. Looks like we are going to go to LB the following weekend instead. I'll definitely keep these places in mind for other times though. How strange that there is availability everywhere after the weekend of the 4th.
