I have a Swagman hitch mounted bicycle carrier which I would like to mount on my motorhome hitch and still be able to use my Blue Ox tow bar system. I have drop hitch receiver which does work. However, the upper receiver for the bike carrier is 2 inches above the lower receiver for the Blue Ox. I would like to have a dual receiver with the upper receiver at an adjustable height of a foot or more above the lower receiver. Does anyone know if such a product exists? Thanks. Carl.

yes a dual receiver exists, in fact I believe Blue Ox makes such a beast. I'd head over to your local hitch shop and grab one. just be careful of bike to toad clearance around corners, the bikes will be quite close.

I don't know if Blue Ox makes such a beast but I do know what they made for me and what I had before

Before: I got a second receiver at the Local RV store and had a local body shop that does welding attach it to the top of the drop hitch, worked very very very well

What blue ox did for me.. Turns out the dealer sold me the wrong drop bar, no problem Blue ox (Factory) sold me another for cost, Since my bike carrier is designed to mount on a ball hitch, they welded a "Tongue" on the top of the drop hitch.. It's bolted on there exactly as it would be in a normal install

Camping World sells a bike rack that fits a 2 inch tubing. I bought a 2 foot hitch extender and mounted the rack to it and Blue-Ox into extender. Used only one receiver. No welding and works fine.Just another idea. Steve

But doesn't that cut your tow rating in half??

I like the dual receiver from Cabela's. www.cabelas.com

It is not staggered such as CW version. It's a straigh-out with the bike mount 4" on top.

( But doesn't that cut your tow rating in half?? )

I would think if I was towing something with a hi hitch weight in the 100's it might have some effect. All I have for weight is the weight of tow bar.Towed my Liberty 20 some thousand miles with extender installed. With my Liberty I'm under allowable gross tow rating for our motorhome. When we tow Dakota we put bikes in truck.I will say I had to search to get cables long enough to make turns without making problems for myself.

Most extensions have the following type warning statement:
"Load Rating GTW 3500 lbs; Tongue 350 lbs
Load Rating with Weight Distribution Equipment GTW 7000 lbs; Tongue 700 lbs
The limiting factor is the capacity of your hitch. Using a hitch extender will reduce your hitch's overall capacity by 50%"

That statement is for this one. Some cut your hitch's capacity by 30% and others by 50%. Does not matter if it is the weight of what you are pulling or tongue weight, it still cuts the capacity
