Cooked many a meal in our Host and never needed a vent over the stove/under the microwave. If more air is needed, just run the Fantastic fan for a few minutes.

As you can see from the replies the opinions do vary.

I've found that when I need to move smoke, food smells, and condensation from the camper, a Fantastic Fan is the ticket and it's quieter too. JMHO

And the other side of the coin

As usual this is a forum of different likes and dislikes. Just wanted some feedback from you guys.

Ok then, that about does it...LOL! Great capture of the window fan Goldwing..have never seen one before....I'll pass it along for a quick fix for those who have a need for something like that. Still wonder why it is missing in the Everest though...and the plot thickens!

I like the vented hoods. It can be used in all kinds of weather. I think it's safer to burn propane in the camper when your venting anyway.

Very simple fix. If Host used a combination microwave hood fan as we see in todays kitchens and as I have in my bigfoot moho the problem is solved. They vent through the back. Host would not need a bottom to the existing micro cabinet. Just hang the micro/hood fan and vent straight through. Done deal.

He right about the squirrel cage fan. Our house fan on our stove is a Kichenaid. It has a squirrel cage fan mounted on the floor. You can mount the tube anywhere you have room.

Have a Host, have no need for a stove fan, have Fantastic Fan which is better by far.
