Gave my 4 year old a PW 50 - can't really go for any distance & small wheels don't do terrain very well
2 year old gets strapped into car seat in back of 4 seat Rhino
wouldn't take out before 2 - to many things to worry about
10 year old on kx85
If we're going to go for a real ride it's in the Rhino

How does your 10 yr. old do on the 85? How tall is he? Thinking about a yz85 for my son, just not sure he's ready!

We do family rides early in the morning and right before dinner and the do a long (usually a couple of hours) big kid (adults and experianced teens only) mid-day. The kids then get to harass the moms and eat lunch.

On the family rides the adults all ride quads (need those for night rides anyway) and the kids ride their toys. The two 6yr old boys are on 50's with training wheels and the one 6yr old girl is on a little quad. The 3yr old rides on the front of mom or dad's quad (know this is not legal but we are putting out and away from the crowds in the middle of the desert). All kids have full gear and helmets including the 3yr old. My kids have mini-mule camelbaks for water and we pack snacks for a mid ride break. If you are riding with girls stuff some TP in the bag with the snacks - learned that the hard way the first time the 3yr had to pee. So far we have managed 2 45-1 hour rides in a day.

Next season the 3yr old will have her own bike or quad (she wants a bike). Family rule is that she has to be able to ride a regular bike without training wheels before she rides anything motorized. She's almost there.....

Of course when the buggy fund gets full we will be adding one of those street legal manx's to the family list.........

I went the cheap route and bought a Chinese made off-road go kart (remember two words, cheap & Chinese). Works great for Mama and the little one. My oldest rides my old 250 quad. Short rides are good especially if it's to the Jawbone canyon store for ice cream. Longest ride we've been on as a family is a twenty mile loop near Bryce Canyon last summer when my youngest was 2-1/2.

When my youngest (3-1/4) is older I plan to teach her how to ride a moto bike and probably well get ride of the Chinese buggy. Mama will get a new quad and we'll be good to go.

Does good, he's a big boy 5'5", 125 or so
it's a good size, 65 was too small, 125 too big for my liking

If all your doing is cruising, Kawasaki Mule has a model that seats 6. two benches, and when rear bench is not needed, the bed can be extended. You could fit a fifty in the bed with both bencvhes in use.

Now, The Mule is not the sportiest, but it's no less capable than a Utility quad.

thanks for all the replies. Been thinking rear seats in the back might be the way to go. Would it be a lot of work to remove the rear seats so I could haul the kids bike in the back? What would be a good price on something like this? Used or new?
