I'd hoped to catch the odometer at 50,000 miles... missed it.
Averaging 15.2 mpg for 51,000 miles is OK with me... Our truck is a crew cab 1 ton 4X$ carrying a 11'11" truck camper... gvw = 13,700 pounds. At least we'll know how much fuel will cost for our trip back to TN in August.

Been in the gold fields of El Dorado for a couple of days... we struck gold ... gold medal cooking by Reddog1's wife that is.
The mountains further east are still covered with snow and ice.

Even campground hosts at Cochese's Last stronghold have birthdays... we had a BD breakfast for him... we were in the boonies... Mrs Beddows had a birthday card for Budster... written in spanish.

It's time to add some pictures... New Orleans in early March as we searched for warm weather.
First thing... we drove up and down every street in the French Quarter... with the truck camper on of course.


Then the Garden District:

California camper... doing a little "parking" like us... we never saw the people.

After eating at Copelands on St Charles we headed south into the bayou... first we had to cross a very narrow and extremely high bridge: we could only get the end in the picture... it felt like it was 5 miles long.

We passed a Katrena campground

We slept in a WalMart on US 98.. then drove on to a legiondary place



and ended the tour of the factory with two of my favoerite hotties

We stopped in Henderson, Louisana at a resturant named Pat's... directly on the Bayou... just a couple of miles from I-10 if you prefer. The cajun food was fantastic... the cajun dialect was music to our ears. The resturant along with the dance and bar areas will seat about 800.


While we were eating, manager/owner Harvey was checking out our camper. He spotted our Tennessee tags and came to the table wanting to talk about the camper and the east TN mountains... his favorite.
he twisted our arms and got us to use his extension cord to plug the camper up to for a few days... right out front. Sometimes if you aren't in too big a hurry the boondocking will come to you!


Are we lucky or what... now he's visiting us in Tn this fall.
