Sleepy did you work for the national labs? My brother in law works for the lab there in Oak Ridge. He is trying to make his way back to Livermore.

Send me info on PM if you like, I may know him.
I worked there for 31 years... I retired almost 5 years ago... and burnt most of the year before that traveling.
Our son was recruited back to this area a couple of years ago... he is at Oak Ridge National Labs... Spallation Neutron Source facility.

One of the things that surprised me when we arrived in Sacremento for the first time was the farms... specifically the rice farms.

Shared secrets... urban boondocking!

We parked here for several days... between 12th and 13th on "I"... it is on a city parking lot beside a fire station. $8/24 hours.
We have also stayed there in years past. Very close to the capital, Old City, resturants, side walk cafes, museums, memorial monuments... we like it there.
