and apparently I should be happy about this. My question, what do I replace it with? Our unit is not a built in but a self contained unit that sits on a shelf. There are lots of wires coming out of the back of it. We can't even turn it around to look for fear of tearing wires loose from wherever they go. They hook up to the Dolby 5.1 sound system. DH is just coming into the 19th century on electronics Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. kkd
It's been awhile since I have seen one of those, but let me be the 1st to direct your logic ( ). If it's dead it has to come out anyway right? So have no fear, it can't get any worse...
Once out and you decide what you want to do, locating the speakers is a f airily easy process. Rather than dealing with the radio on the shelf, bet a regular AA, C, or D size battery and momentarily short it across the speaker leads. That will cause a non-damaging pulse to help you find them. Just make sure you are locating speakers and don't get it across the 12V input.
Don't know about YOURS but my Concertone is a comglomerate of different things. What precisely "died" on yours? Are you talking about TV, DVD, Surround Sound, Weather Radio, Stereo, Satellite Radio, Everything above or what?

It won't turn on (there is a CD trapped inside). At the time we lost this we also lost the microwave, and the Directv box. Newbie mistakes with hook ups. kkd
You could go to Concertone's website and see if they have a replacement.....JUST KIDDING!
There are a few other combination AM/FM/CD/DVD players that you could use in place of your Concertone. The problem I've seen is not having enough speaker circuits. Mine has three, most I've seen have two. Good luck.

Don't know much about electronics but we did have a problem with ours that happened during a thunderstorm. We thought it was a goner. Called our RV Co. and they sent us a new one..... well upon my husband trying to take out the old one and insert the new one he managed to find a fuse in the back of the unit. It just needed to be replaced. He then just put the old unit back in the wall and yes that is all it was. Works great since. So if you take it out before taking the wires apart check the fuse. Could be an easy fix for you.
