Just finished watching the HGTV "RV 2009" broadcast.
As usual, all you see are the new RV's with new floorplans, more amenities, fancy cabinets, but still not a mention of providing more quality in construction, wiring, plumbing, waterproofing, etc.
I know I sound a little bitter, but I am. All the industry tries to do is sell with cosmetics.

Now, Now... let's just focus on the cluelessness of the hostess, she told the couple with the two kids that they could tow the 26' tow-hauler with their MINI-VAN!!!!! That my friend was priceless.

Yup, we watched it, too, and had our own running commentary throughout the whole thing. And you're absolutely right about the cluelessness of the hostess!! I liked when Ms. Clueless mentioned a "huge kitchen" in a Class A -- and she was looking at a counter about 5 ft. long that held a double sink and a cook-top, and left about 4-1/2 inches of counter space to actually cook on. Or how about when she pointed out that there were 3 adults standing in an RV bathroom! But failed to mention that they were actually standing in a hallway that had parts of a bathroom on either side. Sheesh.

It was also quite priceless to "save the best for last" and show the spectacularly stupid Country Coach Veranda model -- which may have been the model that drove Country Coach right out of business!!

Oh well!

I agree and very disappointed in it. they sould of divided it up over 4 showes. Another few things I noticed was the mention of needing a 1 ton to tow a fiver and then on price they put 55,000 and not sure the top figure. Did they not have any entry level fivers in the 20's at the show. My wife even caught the mini van comment. We also noticed she called the motor homes were like a mini van. I also thought their products were a little cheeze and sue the vue cube and the satalite co's paid plenty for that.

I saw that it was on but I also found something a lot more interesting watch. Made me think about it, Ancient aliens. lots of theories, no proof, but could it have happened, good arguments, pros and cons both sides had their say. even religious leaders got into the act.

my jaw dropped when she said that!!! i just shook my head. no wonder so many people ask: "can i tow this with my mini-van?"

BikerK9...they had a brief look at a class A with one of those crosswise, golf cart sized "garages" under the bedroom. I 'spose it's a toy hauler...if yoou don't have too many toys.

Pretty much what you expect from non RV people. The minivan comment bordered on insane. I have the same opinion of the veranda model that I had the first time I saw it, incredibly stupid and a waste of time and money. The engineers must not have had anything to do that day and were drawing on napkins. Some of us have learned to look past the fluff(even people on this forum ooh and aah over)and look at the guts of these things.Let me say right here publicly, if you need granite countertops, designer kitchens and baths in your RV, you probably picked the wrong hobby, just saying!
