Be very careful when remote camping.

We were stuck in the snow on South Western Oregon's Bear Camp road.
Yea! That is the same one a family from California was stuck on and the father lost his life.
Found out later a camper salesman with his camper lost his life on the same road several years before.

Tell someone where your going and when you will return.

I camped so far out in the wilderness in New Mexico, even the UFOs packed up and moved closer to town! Sorry the pictures mysteriously erased.

On the North Beach, Masset, Queen Charlotte Islands, British Columbia.

We could see Alaska on a clear day.

Was a stormy night and took took the rig about 1 1/2 miles north of the Denali Hwy, on an old cat trail. This was in early August. Everyone else was attempting to find a level spot to park their rigs and camp, where I had turned north to get away from the generator noise, and those who were tenting it.

Slept good that night, even though storm had the rig rocking with the high winds.

Jarbidge, NV. 25 miles east of Mountain City and 30 miles west of Jackpot. About 90 miles north of Elko for those who don't know Nevada. Good fishing there
Good luck and good camping.

Not that far from home, but way off the pavement on Jack's Peak in SW New Mexico. Stupid cows for company.

Having since acquired a SPOT, I will never boondock again without mine. Friends and relatives can see where you are on Google maps and the tracking, help and 911 choices are also available. A remarkable product, particularly when you leave cell phone coverage.

For those of us who like to camp in the middle of nowhere, or alone . . . I think either the SPOT or ACR are a wise investment.
