We departed Lafayette on the 5th and returned on the 16th. Total mileage was about 2300 miles. We didnt want a marathon drive down to Key West so we broke the trip up into 6 hour drives. We stopped in Tallahassee at the Tallahassee RV Park the first night. Very nice, not too far from I-10 and not a lot of road noise at night. Next morning we were off to Tampa and Busch Gardens for a day and we stayed HERE about 10 minutes from away from the park. We spent the day riding roller coasters at Bush Gardens and enjoying the weather. From Tampa we skipped down to Boyd's Campground in Key West and spent two days exploring the island. Drove back up to Disney World for two days and then over to Camping On The Gulf in Destin to finish off the trip. A few shots of Key West and Destin for your viewing pleasure. It was a great trip with fabulous weather and many opportunities for relaxation. If you prefer a slideshow you can click this LINK the password is keywest ...enjoy

Island transportation system. These little scooters are about $40 bucks a day and are absolutely the best way to explore this place.

Sloppy Joe's on Duval Street. This was one of Hemingway's favorite hang outs and according to the locals Kenny Chesney loves the place too putting on a couple of free concerts a year here.

Ready for a day sail anyone?

Dockside entertainment...

These docks are just west of Duval street with plenty of bars and restaurants to enjoy. This is a good (slightly more laid back) place to hang out when you get enough of the Duval Street show...

I still kick myself for spending my Florida vacation in the Everglades and Daytona 500. We had an extra day to drive down there but chose to go to Tampa instead.
Floria is a nice place.

I think you were in my spot at Boyd's Had the same view you have posted, what a lovely place, but many bucks to stay there...how many cats a EH's place? Did you go up the lighthouse across the street? Brings back a good trip...we took nine weeks Tacoma to KW and back over 11K miles a year ago...want to do it again!

THX for the excellent post and fine pics! Capt PJ

Sounds like you had an awesome time. Have camped at Boyds myself (Spring Break style according to your post), but it was prior to the TC. Destin looks pretty neat right on the beach. Thanks for sharing!
