Thought this would be a good place to ask my question.
I have a firefighters conference in June in McAllen at the new convention center off of Ware Road. I am looking for a nice campground near the convention center. There are probably three of us that will be bringing our RV's. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks

We spent the winter at 7 Oaks Rv Park on Inspration rd in Mission, not but just a hop and skip from Ware rd...They have good sized lots and nice people there... Just watch out for the sand spurs.. they do have cement patio's...

80 RV Parks next door in Mission, about 500 in the Valley. For a nice park try Tip O Texas in Pharr. Casa del Valle in Alamo, Victoria Palms in Donna, Bentsen Palms Village Resort in Mission. There will be room in all as they are Winter Texan parks and most are heading north in a few weeks. I personally would go with Victoria Palms, Very Tropical & 2 swimming pools.

I noticed that Twin Palms is on that search....don't bother calling they have been closed for nearly a year, purchased by the college. Of those on the search Mission Bell would be the closest that I would consider.

2 winters ago we stayed for 5 weeks at Tip O Texas... 5 weeks too long & never again.
As for Bentsen Palms Village RV Resort, we stayed 2 weeks in March 2008 & 3 Months this past winter. Such a good park, we are booked in for 3 months next winter.

Eh!

I believe there is a park on Ware rd. just south of the expressway next to Palmview Golf Course if memory serves me correctly. That would put you about a mile away at most from the convention center and some good restaurants.

Bentsen Palm Village RV Resort is one of the nicest parks in the area but is 15 to 20 minutes away. If you want to be closer to Ware Road then I would recommend Mission Bell.
