With the length of trailer you are towing with an Envoy don't skimp on the hitch. Order yourself the equalizer from rv wholesalers they deliver to your door and believe me I tow a similiar size trailer with the same vehicle a trailblazer you need the sway control. I towed my trailer 2 times with a standard w/d hitch and no sway control and its not fun going 55 and praying the trucks won't pass you and send you off the road. Here is the Link
Enjoy your new trailer and remember you can't be too safe with your family in the tow vehicle. Don't go the cheap route and regret it.

I had to go with a lower costing unit... Sure I'd like to have the $600 WD Hitch but had to settle with what was reasonable on the pocket book.
I got a EazLift bent bar from Camping World.
Only thing was they shipped it out missing the shank and one of the bent bars....
So will have to wait longer to get it all set up.

Ok. I've gotten two EazLift bent bar from Camping World... 1st shippment was missing one of the bent bars and the shank and all of the nuts and bolts...
The 2nd shipment had all of the major parts but now some of the smaller parts are gone....
Seems they may be sending me a 3rd....
That said, tell me about two things...
1. what limitations do I have when towing with the HD hitch in place on my camper? can I only turn so far in either direction? can I go up or down steep drives, etc?
2. Sway control.... I did get that from camping world, have not opened it but they sold them as right or left.....
What does that mean? I got a left.. not sure why but from other folks I think I've seen them on the left (passenger side) of the vehicle....
again, what limitations are there with the sway attached?
Thanks..

A properly installed WD hitch and Friction sway control bar will not be limiting. You will "jackknife" the bumper into the trailer before binding up the WD hitch. This video is a great explaination for installing a weight distribution hitch.
I haven't found an install video for a friction sway control bar. The instructions should be included. My EZ Lift worked great on my Trail-Cruiser (Surveyor sister)

Yeah, I've watched that video several times. Very good.
here is the type of sway control that I bought to go with my EAZ eLite WD hitch.

Looking at this image I now wonder if the "left" is the right one to have....
Is left drivers side and right passenger.. I guess it depends on which way you are looking at the trailer...

The normal installation is on the passenger (right) side of the trailer A frame as indicated on the picture. Open the box and take a look at what you have. I have only seen the "right" side ones. Any I have seen on the left side have just been the other one mounted backwards. If you really do have a "left" side one then I would just mount it on the left side. Shouldn't make any difference in performance which side it is on.
Of course, the other option is to send it back for an exchange. You are probably used to that procedure by now!
