Regarding the CA Endorsement, there are threads on this forum, but YES, you do need to get this endorsement.
It's called a Restriction 41 Endorsement.
It consists of having to take the written non comm'l class a test. Not the drive portion.
I can assure you it will take you half a day at the DMV because only 1 or two people in the whole joint will know about this test.
I came with all the info, pointed it out, drew a picture, yada yada and it still took them a couple hours to figure it out, literally.
Never been pulled over to check it, but it Cali it is law, and I've heard of holiday weekends out towards Glamis and busy areas that cops had pulled some people over checking for this, so better safe than sorry.

Thanks for the info. Did you make your appt online or did you call to make the appt?

Hey anitajeff,
Can't remember if I called or did it online, but def. make an appt. It's typically a breeze doing anything at the dmv if you have an appt. Only reason this instance took so long is because it's a rare request by a customer visiting the dmv.
Not sure what part of cali you're in, but I did mine at the Glendale location.
Good luck.

Manke,
Thanks for the info. I will have my husband, Jeff, call the DMV since he will be doing the driving. We live in the San Diego area.

So we actually picked up the trailer today. We took about 3 hours just to go through the PDI I printed from online. It ended up being an all day event.
We found a few minor things that need to be addressed but nothing major. The only thing that kind of has me is that I know I've seen other 3010's with both the inflatable air mattress as well as a kidney shaped table for the garage and ours doesn't have them. In the end I think it will be ok, because we can now turn the kitchen seat into a flat bed pretty easily and now we can cuddle and watch tv.
The only thing I really wanted to do that I couldn't was drain the freshwater tank and see if the tank was really empty. The dealer had it totally full checking for leaks, (at least that is what they said) that trying to drain the fresh water out of a small 3/8" hose was just about impossible. It would have taken a day to drain it all out.
In any case, all went well and it is now home and looking about 20' longer then it originally did. It towed pretty good coming home. The trailer turns pretty good with out using the slider but there is defiantly a point where it will hit the bed of the truck. Also after we parked it, the trailer and truck were not in line with each other so we ended up sliding the hitch back so we could drop the tail gate to disconnect the trailer.

We didn't get an air matteras or the kidney shaped table for the garage either. But we did get a 2' x 3' plastic folding table that Jeff is using for a barbeque table. We took our 3010 for its first camping trip this weekend. Went to the desert for 2 nights. Everything seemed to work great. Very comfortable and Jeff said it was easier to tow than our 30' pull trailer. Didn't have any issues with towing with a shortbed truck 08 Chevy 2500 Durmax. Our hitch is a Reese 16K manual slide. Also, installed a Blue Ox for cheap insurance. Our next trip will be Thanksgiving at the desert.

I've discovered the first "inconvenience" tonight. As I was walking into the dark trailer at night it turns out it is a long way to the light switch. I had to reach for the light over the sink instead of having a switch by the door for the over head lights. It seems to work but it would have been nice to have an inside door switch. oh well, if that is my biggest problem I'm doing good.
oh ya, I managed to melt the new bed spreed today. I realize it said "dry clean" but decided to wash it as well as dry it on low heat. I now have big old hols in the bed spreed.

We also had the issue with the light. Jeff installed a battery operated light strip under the cabinet right when you walk in. Works out great. Sorry to hear about the bedspread. Our bedspread went to the Goodwill and we put our own handmade quilt on the bed. Feels more like home. We are also installing shelves in the shallow closet by the stereo. It's the one with the two hooks in it. Jeff is also installing little built in tables by the bed so we can have coffee in bed in the morning. Just like being home.

Please post or email photos of the new features you've installed. I'd for one would like to see the shelf's by the bed. it is a little tight right there.
thanks

Will be installing some of the "new" improved features this weekend. If I can figure out how to post pics I will. I have tried several times with no luck. When I click the image icon it asks for a URL. The pics are on my desktop so not sure what URL it's talking about. Any hints?
