Every time. It flushes out the crud from the bottom of the tank, every time, and it's always fresh when I fill it back up. The only time I do not drain, is when traveling from camp site to campsite. At the end of the trip, that's when I drain. We went camping 29 week ends in a row last year, and 2 weeks for vacation.

I drain ours if we will not use TT for over a week or two. Why? Cause wife complains water tastes bad if I do not. An unhappy wife does not lead to a peaceful trip. I drain it.

Never have drained it going on 8 years. Didn't realize people did except for winterizing and don't do that in So Cal.

I never drain my water heater. No problems so far. Water taste ok and never had to replace a water heater. Actually I have only drained one water heater in all the RVs that I have owned with the exception of the RVs in Yuma as the water is really bad there

Same here, although if I remember correctly, I did see a mod on the forum that made draining it everytime easier. You attach a metal braided hose and a valve to the drain plug. This stores inside the outside cover for use.

Let's see? I think I drained mine about 8 years ago... Still haven't had any problems. BTW, if it gets down to freezing, I just turn it on.
