I thought I'd ask the experts out there, how do I go about lubricating my front electric stabilizers? I see how easy it will be to use some dry lubricant on the rear ones, but the front seem different.
Do they even need it? I would think so. Please tell me, as I want to do it right from the beginning.
Thanks in advance,
Mike

Some folks use silicon, some use a light "dry" lube. The main thing to avoid is using heavy lube that collects dirt and gums things up.

The owners manual doesn't say squat about it fishingbob61 - which is why I asked the forum folks.

I've been told to take the cap off the top of the leg and lube the gears with a white lithium grease. Not sure what to use on the legs themselves other than the grease as well. I realize it may collect dirt but so does the kingpin. I believe the factory just uses grease.

I have not heard of anyone lubricating the actual tubes themselves so cannot comment on that. I do each spring lubricate the gears at the upper end of the stabilizers. To do this I remove the metal cover that is snapped over the gears and apply a heavy axle or wheel bearing grease to the two gears. This helps a great deal to reduce the noise as well. The best I can describe the metal cover is it is a silver or black upside down 'U' shaped piece of thin metal that just snaps over the gears. You will have to access this cover from inside the storage compartment near the stabilizer motor(s)
Hope this is of some help.
