I've been looking for a couple years now for a B that I could actually afford. There are plenty of new ones at dealers, but here in the northest, eastest part of the country most Bs are someone's baby and NOT for sale. Finally found one, and now that it's in my yard I'm hoping I didn't make a mistake. It's a 1986 Dodge Xplorer in mint condition. Just beautiful, obviously well loved and cared for. I drove it home, about 65 miles. Handled well, sounded great, lots of power on hills. I was worried about the tires as it had been sitting for 2 years. But, no blow outs.

I have been on the board for a while, in the 5er section mostly, but just lurking lately. I'm reading here in the B section because I need lots of support, info etc. Love my new toy,got a great deal $$ wise. Now need to learn all the ins and outs. Hopefully when I have specific questions soemone here will have suggestions? When in the 5er DH took care of the filling, dumping, furnace etc etc. Whole new era of going it on my own. A little daunting but I'm totally up for it. Hoping you all will support me as I've seen you all reach out to others.

Congratulations on owning a "B". Learning about electrical, batteries, dumping etc. is not that difficult. Once you get the hang of it you will wonder what all the "mystery" was about. I've had mine for a little over a year and been to 11 states by myself. The "B" world is great!

robbins1,

Congratulations. If you put in "Dodge Xplorer" into the search box at the bottom of this page you will find several folks that might be able to help.
There's decades of experience here.
Best of luck to you.

Congrats on the new-to-you Xplorer! I have an '87 Xplorer Xtravan that was babied by the two owners before me. It has needed a good bit of work, because of the age of the vehicle, but "Bessie Lou" is full of character.
