Hi Codie,
My name is Kim. I'm glad to hear that you like to camp with your parents. I grow up tent camping with my parents. I have some great memories. Every trip my sister and I would meet new friends. And I'm sure you will too. Just don't be afraid to go up and say "Hello". Now I camp with my family. For us it is the only way to go. My son is now in college and he still likes to camp with us. We thought that when he went away to college that he wouldn't want to go with us anymore but he has only missed one trip. We look forward to one day camping with our grandchildren. I hope you have a great summer.
Hi Codie, How great that you and your Dad read the forum together, and that you are building memories camping. We live fairly near you, depending on what part of Nebraska you are in. You never mention how old you are, but I would guess..umm 12? I too am a Grandma, and we take all 5 of our Grandkids camping whenever we get a chance, the younger ones have been camping since they were about 3 months old. They are 3, 5, 5, 14 & 16 so we have a pretty wide range of things to do. The important thing is to make memories.
Happy Camping....

Looking to Make Memories
Hi Codie,
I'm Cathy. I grew up camping with my large family in a tent. Back then,my parents were poor so the only vacations we ever took were camping with no electricity, no water, and no bath house! Very primitive camping. I have pictures of my mom washing baby diapers in the lake(ewww!)
Now I have 3 kids. One is grown up, but the other two are teenagers. They still like to go camping with us. In fact, my 16 year old daughter has her equipment--a big tent, tarps, sleeping bags, foam sleeping mats, and marshmellow roasting sticks. She can start campfire and cook over it, too. All she needs now is a cooler. Maybe I should buy her one for her birthday. What do you think?

My name is Sara. I just got back from Arizona. We camped at many sites. Our next trip is to San Simeon, CA, on the central coast. When we were in Arizona we went to the Grand Canyon. I go camping with my mom, dad, brother, and some times friends. I'm 9. How old are you?
Codie, How old are you? I have a son and three daughters that might write to you. I'll tell them about you when they get home from school. If you have a camera take lots of pictures and start an album for yourself. You can keep it all your life and remember how you looked when you were a child. Have the people around you take your picture too of course.
Happy camping.

My friend's daughters are 8 and 11 and they are my best friends, they love to camp with their parents and they can't wait to see Brian (my 11 yo) and I this summer.

I hope you find some kids your age on this forum so you can share your common interests in camping, etc.
We started our sons camping when they were 1 and 3 years old. They're in high school now but still enjoy camping trips as a family.
As someone else mentioned, take lots of pictures of your trips with your family. You'll smile at them years from now.
My sons have met many other kids their ages while camping. You'll find kids in a campground most every time you go. Don't be afraid to go up to them and introduce yourself. You might just make some new friends along the way.
