If you are placing it over a power vent such as a "Fantastic", you MUST use a Maxx.
Why??? My Fantastic vent fan works fine with the Ramble over it.

I also have put a standard vent cover over a fantastic fan with no problem. I am sure that if you measured it on high speed it did cut down the air flow some what but since I rarely ran it on high speed, so what?

We were at CW on a recent trip to TN. They were running the Rambles on sale BOGO. So two covers for 19.00. I could not justify to myself or my wife paying 30.00 a pop for maxairs. When I get the unit back from some warranty work I am going to have the wife put them on. I don't do heights, and a large fella and don't want to risk my weight on the roof (she is a tiny thing).

I recently installed two Maxis. They barely touch the roof when you use the new bracket set up. I'm debating on putting a third one over the fan on the bathroom vent. The Travel Trailer sits outside in the sun so I leave the two vents with Maxis open to air it out. advice I received here on this board. The installation went well.

I prefer Camco Aero-Flo vent covers myself. They're vented on three sides, and the hinged top makes cleaning very easy.

I also used the Camco Aero Flow. Took about an hour to install two of them. As stated above very easy to open and clean and have been durable over the last three years. The design also allows the vents to open fully.

The Aero Flows were significantly less than the Max Air covers.

When mounting a vent cover over a vent with a Fantastic Fan, how were you able to attach the vent covers' mounting hardware?

my fantastic fan was in a standard opening/lid and the aluminum L brackets just bolted to the sides of the framework that the vent cover was fastened down to.
