On my desk top,at the bottom of my screen, you can see another tool bar sticking up 1/16", from under the regular tool bar. When my computer is slow bringing up a new page, if I run the cursor up over the regular tool bar, the striped one underneath is drug up. It has horizontal stripes on it and just shows up for a second. I can't select the covered bar. Does anyone know what this is and how I can get rid of it?

I bet it's some sort of application window that appears and disappears after the app has finished executing. Maybe you drug something down there in the past, and that's where it pops up now? It's hard to say. But I would (if I were you) run Spybot and Adaware, or any other spy-ware application you have. Maybe it's some sort of spy-ware that's bogging your system down. I've seen that happen from time to time, although not exactly in the way you describe.
Also, what happens after a restart? Does this same behavior still occur?
(Did I mention you should try Linux?!?!)

I have had this hidden toolbar or whatever it is for months. It doesn't go away when I reboot the computer. Is there a way to bring this page or bar up on the screen?
I downloaded Spybot and it is scanning my computer now. I do already have Embarq's security installed, so there is a chance that it is nothing to be concerned with, I was mostly just curious if someone with more computer skills then me knew what it might be.
Thanks,
Tom
I'm curious to the answer.
I have the same thing on my laptop. I know something's there, but I can't bring it up to get rid of it.
It doesn't exist on my desktop.
Are you referring to the Taskbar at the bottom of the screen where your clock is? If so, while right-clicking on an unused spot of the taskbar (usually towards the clock end) try click the left-mouse on the Toolbars menu item and see if you have anything other than Quick Launch selected. If so, try de-selecting whatever is selected.

Life doesn't come with a safety fence around it... enjoy it anyway.
I tried responding to this yesterday and it wouldn't go through - so I gave up.
You can move the task bar by just pointing at it, left click (hold down) and move it to the top or sides. Then you should see if there really is something under there. Let us know.

Do you know about the other portals to Open Roads Forum. Yesterday and earlier today, I could not work through the RV.Net portal, but had no trouble through either of the others (except Good Sam, which I don't use.)

Hi, Tom. Yes, I know about the other portals. I gave up because I was annoyed that I had typed a bunch of stuff and upon sending it, I got a back the "page not found" dialog. Of course, when that happens, my typing is all lost. I didn't have quite enough ambition to do it over again at the moment.
