My youngest daughter wanted to run up to Camden to visit a tack shop and look at some saddles. Though it's only 120 miles and an easy day run, I convinced them it was a good opportunity to see how well the family of 4 could handle the "smallish" 815. So they agreed to making it an overnight trip.
After visiting the tack shop and doing a little GeoCaching, we set up camp at Poinsett State Park. With only 3 sites left, it was nice having a compact rig where any fit us.
The girls made the salad inside.
While I cooked the salmon.
Then it was time to play some Uno and frisbee before settling down for the night.
In the morning, after leaving the campground, we made the hike around the lake.
There were lots of turles enjoying the day.
As well as this cute fellow only 20' from shore.
End of a wonderful hike and back to the TC. Just love how I can park it in a regular space.
Everyone had a good enough time that they are willing to try it again. Though, my teenage daughters are thinking about using a tent the next time if the weather is nice. They figure that may be better than trying to squeeze on the dinnette.
