I thought everyone had about the same door handle... BTW my Jayco has a metal (cast aluminum) door handle. I haven't had any problems but if I did I'm not sure it's a Jayco quality issue beyond the repair. The door is an assembly they install.

Overall people are very rough with stuff. When you go into an RV which has been sitting on a lot for a while, stuff is broken. Go into a model home, stuff is broken. Go into a car dealership, test drive a car that has been on the lot a while, stuff is scratched. No one is careful anymore, no one cares. Everything is disposable. I am very careful with my stuff, I work hard and don't want to ruin my stuff, but I know that most people are not.

I'm not surprised - this is what you get when a dealership leaves the units unlocked and people mosey throughwithout much regard for others' property. OP, while it's a hassle having a salesman with you, those units generally look much better.

I go there all the time to mosey through them, the dealer is literally 2 minutes down the street.
I've seen a lot of missing, damaged parts in their stock.
I guess it is cheaper for them to just replace the damage... they sell a lot of units there, and there is a lot of people meandering about.
You can really get a better feel for things when the salesman isn't standing right there.

I have my second Jayco Eagle on order and we really loved our 325BHS, but just ready for a different floorplan. I really have shopped around and I feel that I get the biggest bang for my buck with the Jayco brand. I've been told I'm "cheap", but I do appreciate quality and that is what I feel I get with Jayco.

when we first got our jayco fiver back in 02, i was fairly concerned about several sample defects...however as time passed i grew to understand that this is pretty common in the industry..now years later we are very happy with our rig and have no intents on getting another one soon..i agree ..the best bang for the buck and still loving it..go jayco !!

I agree that's why I order from the factory.

Had always heard of Jayco "Amish" workmanship....maybe it's a result of hard times in the industry but the 2008 and 2009 models look like junk. (IMO)
I can't understand and believe these comments above! My wife and I looked at 5th wheels for over a years before we bought our Jayco Eagle. In our case money wasn't the issue on deciding on an Eagle. We just bought a new truck and I was more concerned about the weight of the trailer and the Designer was just a little too heavy for our truck so we settled on a Eagle. We looked at many Keystone, Fleetwood, Dutchman trailers etc. We went to every RV show and looked until we were blue in the face!
Most trailers were just OK, but they all seemed to lack something for us. Quality was #1 and floor plan #2 and price #3 in our order of selection.
That's how we decided on the Eagle over all the rest of the trailers we looked at. The quality of fit and finish was very obvious to us after looking at whatever else was out there. We love our Eagle and have had no problems so-far! That's why I find this post hard to believe...that someone could feel this product was junk!
