When I left Florida after being there for 3 months, my brakes would not work on my trailer until I had rolled maybe a half a mile, thought was going to have to return and have them fixed, after they started working they worked great up to North Carolina where I spent 2 weeks, when leaving there the same thing happened, after going 2 or 3 hundered yards they started to work and were ok to Pa, NOW, I wonder my next trip will they work? Would be a BUMMER if my trailer was all packed then they won't work, any ideas???

First thing I would do is examine the 7 pin connector and then clean all the pins in the 7 pin plug and receptacle. After that I would look at all the wiring for a break or loose connection. From that point on I don't have a clue without actually seeing it and doing further testing. Maybe take it to a shop?
Good luck, safe travels and happy camping!

Be sure to check your ground wires good. Sounds as though its trying to ground through the hitch instead of the wiring system.
