I plan to use one of my receivers from home. Another question, do you have to use a receiver from home? We have a receiver from before from our old house, can I use this one and then use my smartcard from one of my current home receivers?
thanks for your help

You can't switch smartcards from one receiver to another. Once a receiver is activated with a smartcard it marries the smartcard and that card will not work in any other receiver. Also Dish network has been replacing cards from the yellow ones to the new purple ones, so odds are your old receiver still has the yellow card in it and will need replaced before it will work.

don't know about DISH but with Direct you can get another receiver for an additional $5.00 per month.

The answer is yes, and you can just use your receiver from home that is already activated.

This interest me too, but how do you align your dish once you get to the camping site. I know they have to be right on. Thanks

We have Dish Network at home. Had an old receiver around we weren't using so we put it in the rv. They charge $5/Mo for the extra receiver. The set up is easy, you need to hit either 110W or 119W to get your channels (or both if using the double LNBF). Use the strength meter from the "setup" menu on your receiver to zero it in. After a few times you can almost hit it on the first try. Only problem is we cannot get our "local channels" when we are out on the road, bummer! Enjoy!
