The DW and I went to the subject park this weekend. It is about 90 miles from where we live. The weather did not hold up, but it was great none the less. First time we had been to this particular camp ground. Very nice sites (some right on the water), with clean rest rooms, great boat launch (no pictures, sorry), and friendly staff. We were lucky enough to get a spot right on the water.

View from out the back door:

All sites are paved:

Lots of great hiking around the area. We spent several hours exploring and enjoying the place. Glad we brought a few DVDs because the rain sure hit us hard Saturday afternoon/evening. Sunday turned out to be fairly decent, but too bad we had to leave to come home.

We did not bring our boat this trip because we installed several new things in the camper over the Winter/Spring and we wanted to test everything out. We have reservations to the same campground in the end of May, we will bring the boat then. Several people were out fishing for trout, kokanee, and bass. Next time, we will be doing the same!

Yes, it's a very nice park! But, boy, it rains a LOT in that area! After all, it's close to Mossyrock, which didn't get its name for nothing!

Mayfield Lake is a great camping location. While you're in the area, don't forget Ike Kinswa State Park and the Tacoma City Light park at Mossyrock. Both are also great places to camp. The Tacoma City Light park is especially good on rainy days as they have a lot of mowed grass around each site.

Boy Tizi, that spot brings back fond memories with my old 28' fiver. I can't get my behemoth 33' 2 slider down that hill anymore and sometimes wish for the old days! Sounds like you had fun despite the rain!

Mayfield Lake was the first place we camped in Washington after moving from Wyoming. Daughter caught her first fish there. Wow that was way back in 1977.
Nearby Riffe Lake has seen a few good times as well.

Thanks for dusting off the old memories.

Looks like a beautiful spot. When it rains I can't keep my eyes open with the sound on the roof.

Thanks for the post/pics.
