I just called several RV-parts outlets (from the internet) and discovered that CCI is out of business. They stated that the parts are very hard to come by and in the long run not worht hunting them down. They suggested that I simply remove the solenoid and place in an in-line coupler. So both propane hoses come together where (solenoid) used to sit and get another brand new propane gas alarm. Does this make sense? Sounds like an easy fix.

No, it doesn't mak sense unless you want to change the detector out.
Thesegas solenoids are easy to come by they don't have to be CCI.
Seems PPL stocks the CCI.

RVmobile.com has them available. Same as used on many refers.

I am not sure anyone else makes a propane detector with an auto solenoid shutoff? Since i don't think the detectors last all that long I suspect your not the last person who is going to be faced with this problem.

That is what I was told is that CCI was the biggest company with the shutoff, so I should convert over to a normal one now.

I personally feel more comfortable with a device that automatically shuts off the propane if there is a problem ... I replaced my CCI detector last month and may consider buying a "backup" (you still see them available on RV sites) since they are going to become harder to find. Just my 02.

Hopefully there are cost effective alternatives on the market which do the same thing. Maybe someone will chime in with some alternatives.
