Naw, it's the massive CAB that results in the shortbed. Of course, I could always get a longbed conversion while you'll still be stuck with that Powerchoke!
Cummins envy rears it's head a lot round here - expecially from the Ford guys....
I wonder what they think of the fact that when you want to oreder an F650 or F750, your engine choices are either a CAT 7.2L, or the Cummins 6.7L - the same engine Dodge uses in the 2500??? Oh ya, and the Ford 6.4L isn't an option......hmmmmmmmm
Even the Ford engineers know what to use when they need real power and durability....

Sounds like all the advertising the auto companies pay for definitely works on brainwashing some people. None of them are worth arguing over. I always buy whichever one I get the best deal on.
Doesn't make much difference until you get one of these:

Not really, for the cost of the longbed conversion (I looked at that option) I could near the cost of an engine swap in my Ford. The only problem with the longbed conversion is that I would have a pickup falling apart around an engine.
Luckily for all of us 6.4 owner's, the engine has proven quite reliable compared to prior years.

Here's the ugly rig that hauls my Cummins around:
I'd ask you for some help Skip, but I'm afraid if we dropped my 6.7L under the hood of that little toy truck you drive around your back wheels would never touch the ground!
You are 100% correct, that thing is ugly.

I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I think that the Dodge is a good looking truck, certainly much better styled than the newer upside down Ford grills. I really like the look of the Dodge Mega Cab short beds.
And no, I don't own a Dodge. I tow with either of two Ford diesels that I own and I'm real happy with both of them.

That does seem to be the case. Our company F-550 has needed nothing but regular maintenance and an Arab's ransom in diesel fuel. Our prior 6.0's had way too much down time for repairs. The 6.4L's good service does slightly crack the door of opportunity when the time comes. It's emissions system doesn't seem to be causing the headaches Dodge is having with theirs. A plain white/grey interior XLT extra cab LB wouldn't be too bad and there are some good deals on them as well as the others. Less money than a similarly equipped gas engine Tundra. If nothing else, the Ford allows for the addition of a Panasonic double din DVD player/GPS navigation unit. I'd just have to get a really huge bra for the front of it like in the spy shots.
