I am looking to install a 1500 -2000 watt inverter in our trailer soon. We currently have two deep cycle 12 volt batteries but would like to upgrade to 4 x 6 volt Interstates or Trojan's soon. I see some inverters come in 12 and 24 volt versions. Which one would be appropriate? Does it depend how they are wired or no? I am leaning toward pure sine due to the LCD and other gaming rigs we tend to sue while the genny is on now. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated.
Thanks one and all.

Your RV is done in 12v so you have to stay with that for your inverter, which shares the batteries with the other rig systems.

A MSW inverter is fine for most TVs and DVDs etc. It seems the big reason for getting PSW is to let the microwave run at full power so it can make pop-corn right If you only want the microwave to heat up canned soup or somesuch, then taking longer at lower power won't change the way the soup tastes.

So you can spend $500 for a PSW or $200 for MSW 2000w inverter and get the same results for most chores. Pop-corn costs $300 more

Stick with 12 volts. I only recommend PSW.

My 2.5 kw MSW inverter has worked fine for my LCD HD TV, DVD, surround sound, VCR, Sat box, computer and cell charging, etc., for years. For the microwave, toaster, electric water heater, we fire up the Onan.
