Hi guys,

I am just getting into the RV lifestyle and was looking for some insight on the best places to stay in the NW. If you could help, what would be your top three resorts to stay and a brief explanation of why?

Thanks for any recommendations you can provide!

A little more information would be helpful. NW is pretty large. Do you mean USA, Canada or the Great Pacific Northwest, AKA Alaska Next, are you looking for a CG that is "big rig" firendly and how big? Finally, are you looking to relax, play golf, gamble or sightsee. These things make a big difference in where the CG is located... Top three or four for me would be:

Bakersfield, CA.
Jackson, CA
Red Bluff, CA
Canyonville, OR

Expect to pay about $50.00/night average....Dennis

PS. It's Newport BEACH.... Welcome to the forum....

WHY? go boondock if you stay at these places you might as well not own a MH. Save your money and go to a great hotel, it would be a lot cheper in the long run

That is what I thing. For the amount of money we all spend on our rig's we can stay in a lot of nice hotels. The MH is self contained, I don't need any services to hook up to. We like to stay in Provincial/State Parks (if we fit).

Why ??? My rig is nicer then most hotels and why would any of you care how anyone spent their money. The OP asked about nice resorts. Whats wrong with parking your RV in a place that is very nice once you walk out your door ??? We read all the stories on this site about "rude" neighbors, in most "Resort" style parks I have never ran up against popple like that. Wow, I just realized you two won't be there either...

One thing I hate about this forum is, somebody asks a simple question, and he gets everything but a legimite answer.

One of the nicer parks is in Newport, OR. called Pacific Shores, it is a class A motorcoach resort and very nice.

Enjoy your travels and remember that if you get a jerk for a neighbor, you can always move.

While we're in Newport, OR, the South Beach State Park campground is one of the nicest anywhere (ANYWHERE), and the Pacific Ocean on the Oregon Coast can't be beat.

In all fairness, I'm there now and a camprgound host. What can I say?

But do elaborate just a bit. There's so many different strokes and folks.

there are a lot of "nice" rv resorts in the nw in the price range you are seeeking. the best advise is to buy a publication that lists them and go from there. also your computer can really be an asset to look up the resorts. don't forget to use google earth also.

As Dennis asked what are you looking for and where? Second part of my answer is checkout rvparkreviews.com. Great place to find what people think of a site. Somtimes you need to read other reviews by the same person to understand what they like. Some of the posters I don't think anyone could make happy, not much different than any other business that way. Many go out of their way in the comments section to describe why they gave a low or high score. This can be quite helpful since the reason they gave their rating may or maynot be important to you.
One problem is your use of "nice resorts", we all have our definition of what makes it nice.
