I just got off the website for Class A DP and found something interseting, most(not) all manufacturers are offering full wall slides as their middle of the road models. I for one do not understand their reasons because when slideing out drivers side (if it has storage bays attached Watch Out for the Park Post). Also Passenger side watch how much patio space it takes up. Just Wondering if anyone else noticed the same things as I do. I will admite they sure have a lot of space inside now. Just wondering about your thoughts? Thanks John

I looked at some in Quartzsite in January and like you was impressed with the space. We have a King of the Road fifth wheel that has full wall slides in the living room and Kitchen. It is 9 years old and seems to be holding up very well.

Been full-timing for ten years, gas and DP, and prefer modest sewer slides, no patio slides, no slide-out storage bins that eliminate storage pass-throughs. Depends on whether you like to stick your 40 footer in anywhere, even in a "30 foot site" or whether you have to travel with a "big rig" RV park book. Some folks like the flexibility of fetching up anywhere; others want big amps and big sites. User pays.

No. I don't like slide-outs. they leak.
But then, maybe, just MAYBE, they have finally developed seals that work, and will continue to work for many years.
One can hope.

We bought a full side slide model. We really like it. We have gone across the US and back with over 100 days of use. So far, no problems. It works better than my two slides in my old RV.

Have one now, 06 Pace Arrow. The only problem has been the slide lock, the plastic piece that goes against wall has broke three times. Going to make some from aluminum, believe that will fix it. I would buy another, love that wide open floor, but it does get a little tight when on road.

We did; a full-wall slide was the main buying point for us, it really opens up the coach.

how livable is the unit with the slide in? do you have to put the slide out to use potty, get to refer, etc.? if so I wouldn't want it.

Bumpy,
With our's, everything is accessible. The hallway narrows going into the bedroom but I can easily walk through with my 6'/215 lbs frame. As well, I can open the bathroom door about 3/4 of the way and walk into the bathroom without being impeded. The refer doors fully open. We can also access most of the bedroom cabinet doors & drawers but four of them can only be opened about a third of the way.
Being fully useable with the slide in was one of our prerequisites; our 5th wheel was the same and so we knew what we wanted.
... Eric
