Has anyone here replaced, themselves, the window panes in their motorhome? I am getting ready to split one front windo to take one layer of the glass to a glass shop and get pricink for new ones using one layer as a pattern and retaining the other to temporarily keep the rain and weather out of our coach, any suggestions or advice is appreciated.

Yes, I've done it. Saved a TON of $$$ over the cost of a replacement window.

I took my time in separating the frame from the window glass segments, also was careful to put a bead of sealant on the leading edge and top edge of the frame when I reinstalled the unit.

Seems from his profile he is a New Member. Maybe made a mistake, I'm sure it wasn't intended to rile anyone.
To the OP, maybe ask the Mod to move it to the correct Forum. Also, welcome to RV.net, tons of good info here.

I had to do both my front side windows. Found after the seal broke the inside panes got etched. This is how i did mine. Took out the windows and measured the depth, removed the inside pane and seal, and measured the outside window. Subtracted the two and got the thickness i would need to put the single pane back in the frame. Went to the local Home Depot and found some plastic moulding that was very close to the thickness i needed. Shaved it down to the correct thickness, cut it to match the glass outline(several pieces), painted it black, and RTV'd it to the glass. Put the rubber seal back around the glass and shim and installed it back into the frame.
