I live in Tn. and it gets pretty hot and humid during July-August.
Do any of you Great Lakes R/V'ers have a recommendation for CG's near the southern end of one of the lakes?

Door County in Wisconsin is only 4 hours north of Chicago and has great lake effect cooling. Sounds like a fun challenge!

Alpena, MI, was always cool, it seemed when I went up there in the 1960's. Across Lake Huron, in Ontario, the are Provincial Parks along the beach. With on-shore breezes, that'd be even better!

Driving into Ontario at Port Huron/Sarnia, is a most spectacular arrival!! And there's a very big Walmart Supercentre across town on 402 that'll make your bucks go farther.

The 1960's? Dont you realize that global cooling has turned the place into sauna these days?

You gotta go up, either up as in north or up as in altitude.

It's hot & humid at the southern ends of the Great Lakes. We live north of Grand Rapids and it's hot & humid here. What would you expect with all that water around?

It's just hard for me to believe it is hotter and more humid in Michigan than Alabama, TN, GA etc in July and August. Or maybe even AS bad!
People come down here all the time from up North and vow they just can't breath! I mean it is so hot that you will literally burn your hands if you forget and not cover up your steering wheel, or accidently touch the metal on your seat belt, your brain fries in the heat, the bottom of your feet burn on concrete, your clothes are soaked as soon as you walk outside.
Paris..it is has got to be cooler in Michigan or anywhere north of you!!

How about Minnesota (sp) with all those lakes? It's gotta be fairly cool up there. I've never been there but it is on my list, I wanna go fishin'.

Not what you asked, but you might try around Boone or Grandfather Mountain, NC. Humidity is still high most days, but it's cooler... or at least 'less hot'... at that elevation.

Michigan isn't as hot and humid as the southern states. I live in southern MI and we do have some hot, humid, days, but not like NC, TN, AL, etc., and not many then. I'd like to have a lot more 'hot' days than we have...we seem to have a long, long, long time of cold...finally we're able to have windows open, during the day, but still really cools down at night.
