Hi guys, thought I's give everyone a whack at this here...I have a 311 dish network receiver. It was working fine, blah blah blah. Anyway, wanted to raise the dish (was on ground, now on post) and went to re aim and using a aiming meter. There is no power coming from the receiver to power the aimer. I tried different cables, I tried different meters. On screen all I get is the "trying to aqure satellite transponder etc" picture. Any thoughts on this?? Scott

Your meter could be bad. I would go into you sat menu and put in the zip code where you are That will give you the elevation and skew your dish should be at.

Tried multiple meters. I did the alt/azm/etc. Can't get any signal. I have a feeling the box is screwed, but was looking for opinions. Scott

If you aren't getting power to the meter and you replaced the cables, make sure that you don't have the input and output mixed up.

Thanks, definitely on the right hook ups. Called Dish, they are sending me a refurb replacement. Which, I might add, did not cost me anything. I had this equipment, did not purchase from them and they are sending me a working unit....very good customer assistance, by someone from the US. Very happy so far with DISH. Scott

Scott, interesting post as I recently had the same experience with Dish. Dish determined I had a defective Receiver, one which I owned, purchassed elseware. They said they were sending me another and when I asked how much $ it was going to cost they said "no charge." When I asked if they wanted the old receiver back they said to keep it. I didn't understand how they could do that and thought they, Dish, had screwed up and I had benefitted from it.
Happy to hear your experience. Dish has always been good for me.

Be careful. The Direct TV police are reading this. Consider yourself as having been warned.
