Weeks ago I let you all know that, though a beautiful pup that I love so much, my little Lab pup Savannah is a hand full with her biting me and pooping and peeing all over my house. Well, I'm proud to say that she is now house broken (as far as pooping an peeing go....she still loves to chew things she's not supposed to, after all she's a lab, ). Also, her biting is getting much better. Though I still have to wear bandaides on my hands and arms, she is much better. The skin on my arms is getting thin and all she has to do is graze my arm to get blood. I have helped her achieve the less biting and the house training by MUCH training and consistency and it's been a challenge. But I have come to love this dog deeply. I use to kinda make fun of people who love their dogs like children and saying things like "mama and daddy love their baby dog, yes we do!" But I find us doing that all the time. Everything she does is absolutely charming and the cutest thing I've ever seen. I am so glad for this experience.

We started obedience classes at Petsmart 2 weeks ago and that's going really well. She loves it.

Another joy to my life.......

She's now almost 4 months old.

"I'm a goofy dog."

"I'm a world class swimmer."

"Can't you see depth in my eyes? I'm thinking, where is my next treat?"

"My mama loves me."

"It sure is tiring having a day full of eating dead frogs, digging up worms and eating them, swallowing a pile of fire ants and licking the cat."

It is said that you spend 1 to 2 years training and the rest of the time enjoying. Sure has worked that way with our Shelties. They are 2-1/2 and 7 years old......perfect dogs......according to Mom & Dad.

We had two yellow labs for many years. We loved em to death. They do like to chew when they're pups. One of our labs used to chew on the garden hose whenever we left the house for awhile. He wouldn't do it when we were at home - only when we were gone. He would chew off about 1 1/2 foot at the very end. He outgrew that and stopped chewing. He live to be 15 years old, and yes, he was our baby.
Our two dogs now are a yorkie and a shorkie, and we love them to death as well. Enjoy your lab, they're a great dog (companion).

We're on our fifth Lab, will always have one, they are such a smart, fun, loyal dog I just cannot imagine not having one in our lives.
Lucy has never been a chewer, we are blessed, when she gets bored she takes a nap, had a crate for her but stopped using it in January, she's a year and a half old now.
The only thing she ever did chew was the garden hose, she has to this day a two foot section she plays with, runs around the yard so proudly with it always trying to get someone to play with her.
You'll always have fun with this dog.
