I too just had open heart surgery 4 weeks ago. Being able to go camping for Labor Day is my goal. No longer overly concerned with the everyday BS, just glad to be here with my family and friends.

Well, we have come a long way since the doctor, speaking of DH, said something in the realm of 72 hours. It's been ELEVEN YEARS!!!!!!!!WHOO HOOO!!!!!!! I thank the Lord every day! His doctors are amazed; and while one didn't like the idea of our "fulltiming," he admits DH is doing exceedingly well. I believe it is because we can follow warm weather! That, and we stay active. When he gets tired, we adjust. When he feels good, we go. We are living the RVing life to the fullest!

I'm pretty much a happy gal, when I'm confronted with negativity, rudeness, or hostility I try to feel compassion for the other person...it can't be much fun to feel that way.

I love this thread... I have many problems and I agree.. any days my feet hit the floor are good days.
Camping is my way to enjoy life. I enjoy life all the time but camping is "my time".
I deal with negative people in my life by feeling sorry for them.
Most of the people I work with have problems (as do I) but I let it slide off of me and don't give it a second thought.
Life is indeed good. Be thankful for it.

I used to (still do) tell my grown kids when they feel like there is nothing positive and become angry to sit down and make a list. Make a list of all the good things in life they have as well as the bad things they "think" are bothering them. You know the pros and cons of thing. One son did that and the next thing I knew he was at my campground with a smile and ready to camp! I've always told my kids if you spread hate, discontent and despair don't expect anything in return but the same. So I guess every time they make their list I'll see them camping so it's a win win for me.
When you make the "list" it's amazing how one sided it turns out and you suddenly realize the good outweighs the bad by a large margin! So I guess now when I want to see the kids I just call them and tell them to make their list lol. Things could always be worse than you think they are.

Just asking, I am thrilled to be alive and have the wonderfull blessing to go camping. Anyone else feel the same?
AMEN!
I feel the same way. I am just glad to wake up one more day and be able to enjoy everything including my love for camping!

Life is too short to spend any energy on negative stuff. we've been "tv less" since Thursday...not watching the news really increases your happiness quotient...and even though we haven't caught a single fish....sitting on the river bank watching the water rush by is just priceless!! now I'm getting ready to go watch DH fire up the grill to make our eggs and bacon out under the awning....life is indeed awesome!
I'm with you. We have a motto..... get away from those who drag you down. Good luck on catching the fish
I think sometimes we forget that the freedoms we have are freedoms not because of celebrities. The freedoms are because of ordinary people who did extraordinary things, who loved this country more than life itself.
