The 2008 F-450 6.4L PSD that I have at work is much quieter than the 2004 6.0L PSD it replaced. The old 6.0L PSD would give me a headache after drving it all day. The 6.4L that I have now doesn't do this.
You loud hot-rod noisy exhaust truck guys, if you had to spend 6~9 hours a day in your truck you would want it to be as quiet as possible. Trust me on this.

Yeah, right on DUDE!
Your response is what I would expect from someone who has burned their brain out on diesel fumes.
Actually, the brain damage is from twenty years ago when I drove gas rigs(like yours)smelling the gasoline while working on them, trying to get some performance out of them. Luckily, diesel pickups came along and I moved on to bigger and better things.
Lighten up!
Sam
Lighten up? LOL!
I am supposed to be cool when you jab at me, and throw in the rolleyes smiley? In case you didn't know, the rolleyes smiley is supposed to infer disdain.
How am I supposed to take your post?
BTW, if you have brain burnout it came from gassers NOT like mine, because mine are as well mannered, hungry for work, and as trouble free as any thing on the road.

Here, I redid it for you "Spoken like a true gasser guy"
You gasser guys seem to get your underwear in such a bunch when talking about diesels, relax, no "disdain" intended, just humor.

I wish I knew what was at the top of the hill that make people spend a extra then thousand dollars to get there first, plus having to drive a train about the rest of the year.
2005 Chev 5.3 Supercharged 395HP 425 T hp. Two wheels on front, 2 on back. one seat, tint windows. front and rear bumpers, headlights, windows. Door on each side. Heater, floor mats, junk behind seats, some dirt. Pulls so hard.
When my old V10 Ford blew a spark plug out, it sounded like an old diesel. So I left the plug out. I had a V-9 that sounded like a diesel and used cheaper fuel. Found some diesel fragrance potpouri that I put under the heater vent. It still pulled with 12% more power than a gasser V-8, ahd the sound and smell of a diesel. Great compromise for me.

I like the quiet of the new diesels with the DPF. I hate the waste of precious fuel and reduced fuel mileage with the government emmission requirements.

Yeah, it's a beautiful though spraying good fuel into the exhaust system , and straight out the tail pipe. Doesn't make me want to run out and buy one anytime soon.
