its actually a micro-USB, not mini-USB. micro is tinier than mini.

MiFi may be the greatest thing since sliced bread, but without a port for an external antenna, it would be useless to us.

We can do the same thing as MiFi (and not be limited to 5 users) with our Cradlepoint router into which our Verizon USB modem is placed. The modem has an external antenna port and we also have an amplifier. Sometimes we don't need anything attached to the USB modem, sometimes we need only the external antenna; however, we're in a lot of places where, without both the external antenna and the amplifier, we'd have no usable signal.

i didn't have 5 users, but with 3 users in a test it stayed fairly consistent in speed while websurfing and reading email etc..

if everybody wants to watch youtube at the same time, I THINK you are going to run into bandwidth issues

I also expect you could have issues, if 'junior' is playing online with the PS or xbox, ( while you are surfing these forums ) because gaming is a data hog.

Others have your setup and use them everyday but I think the MIFI is great being able to slip it into ones pocket could come in handy.

and best part GF can turn it on and use it when she travels with out being a Geek.

but you are right if something with an antenna is needed then it's not the one.

Unless it's like my cell phone and you can drill thru the case to locate an antenna connection food for thought

Ive been using my mifi for a month and love it. there is a post on page one of this forum labeled mifi for two that has some threads about boosting mifi signal that look good to me.
i dont have to boost at home, but am looking for on the road use. i really dont anticipate much of a problem as my verizon phone seldom doesnt have a signal and the mifi should be as good.
