Hey guys. It's been awhile since I've posted. We haven't had the trailer out for camping since Thanksgiving at Glamis. Caught this the night before departure for Memorial Weekend when I was checking/adjusting tire air pressures on the trailer tires. Pretty eye opening!!! Luckily the local trailer supply store had them in stock. I've temporarily replaced the faulty one as well as the "good" one on the same side.

I will be installing the Dexter E-Z Flex system with the wet bolt kit as soon as it comes in before my next trip.

Dexter E-Z Flex

I would estimate less than 10,000 miles on this trailer. Any guesses what would cause the failure so prematurely??

Moderators Edit: Adjusted photo width to 640 pixels, the height setting overrules width when used.. The Photo FAQ's has help & tips for posting photos.

Good save. That will be a nice upgrade. We could have seen your stuff in the storage lot of a wrecker company. Wonder how many trailer accidents start out is a failure like that?

That would've been one of those, "Um, Honey" moments.

Great catch.

Hey, 10,000 isn't bad at all for those shackles....a buddy of mine lost his at around 5k.

I switched to the EZ-Flex a while ago, as well as replacing all the shackles, bolts and bushings.

The ride was noticeably smoother towing. And I Always check them when I check the tire pressure before the trailer moves an inch.

Glad you caught that in time!
