Nice kit and Dexter is selling at about half price from thier website.
Thanks for the tip! I've been wanting this kit since I first saw it. At that price I couldn't help myself. I felt I should help out with Dexter's Inventory Reduction sale. it was the right thing to do...

nayther,
We have the same Rage'n and a shackel failed on mine 2 years ago. My Dexters show zero wear.

BTW, on greasing the zerks, don't be stingy, they will take plenty on the initial greasing. It's messy but let is ooze out, the brass sleevs will wear out faster w/o sufficient grease than the stock dry plastic sleeves will. There is no seal to blow so grease away!

A productive weekend for us both, I just removed the stock 2 battery cage and welded in a new 4 battery cage for 4 -6v's. It's a tight fit, but they are in there!

Thanks, I'll hit them with more grease now, only put in a couple of pumps until some oozed out, I'll get more in there before Friday's voyage. Would love to see how you got four 6v batteries in there, wanted to do that for some time, can you post a pic?

Now that you mention it I remember you had a catastrophic failure a while ago didn't you? Guess I should have been more observant then.

As long as grease oozes out you should be good, but give em another blast after your first trip.

I'll take pics tonight of the quad batteries.

Definately re-grease after first trip.

Quad 6v batteries no problem in the Ragen FA3005 -it just makes the PIN heavier! Cut out the old battery frame, make a new one to fit your layout(boxes or not). I added a cross piece to the trailer frame to support battery box frame near the generator.

Here is mine:

Got the battery boxes at Fisheries Supply. They are available to order online.

Our trailer only has the tin can around the generator -no divider walls on either side of generator....

Thanks.

Hey, Dune did you measure the axles? I am curious too. I saw the price and thought is was a misprint. It was like $500 bucks awhile back. I think I will get the entire kit, I can't get some of my zirks to take grease now.
