Seems it's the thing to do. My 5er came equipped with Mission
ST205/75R15 C rated tires. On a trip in May we were on the road home
but stopped for fule and food. Leaving the resturant I saw that the left rear tire was flat. The tire had began seperating, lucky us.
Any hoo My local Les Schwab ordered some new Maxxis tires, same size as originals but with a D rating and only 15 lbs. more pressure per tire. Could have been a real mess if we had not stopped. Regards, Jim

For your size tire, you did good with the Maxxis.

Did you get 225s? I did not know Maxxis had a 65 psi 205-D.
You are very lucky to catch it as you did.

Chinese tires should be flat when installed. At least there wouldn't be the surprise when they blow up

Note if wheels are Load Range C, and you are inflating load range D tires to max, you are "only" OVERLOADING WHEELS BY 30%.

IMO check your wheel ratings, SOON.

Glad you caught Chinese junk before it hurt anything.

smkettner, 205/75R, Chuck could not find a wheel rating on any of the 4 that
were replaced. Only have the tire guys assurance that all is well, we shall see.

Wish I had been so lucky. Had two tires to blow running 60 down the interstate. Replaced with maxxis.

I assume this is the first tire change on your '04. Hopefully you got 4 good years of use from those Mission tires. I suspect getting 4 to 5 years of use from any mfr's tire is about all one can expect. Glad you saw the flat when you did. Did you find out what caused the flat tire in the first place?
