my foot gets hot from hot air flowing from the engine compartment.
I was wondering if this is normal or if this is something I can take to dealer to get fixed or if I can patch it using some kind of tape or weather stripping...
I have a 2007 Dutchmen 31p Class C on Ford E450 chassis.
Suggestions welcome
Thanks!

There should not be air flow from the engine compartment to the cockpit in any case, if there is fix it. Most class C's are van based and if there is a doghouse (engine cover) that is leaking you can take it off and check the seals and repair if needed.

the doghouses on Class C's are notorious for putting out heat!! In the winter it's great....in the summer the A/C can't keep up with the heat put out by the dog house....you can buy reflective insulation and line the dog house cover and that should reflect the heat back out to the engine compartment. (check with RV stores and places that sell auto parts for the reflective insulation)

We had the same problem when we first got our RV. Dh took the dog house off and put it back on. The last person to put it on had not made sure it was on correctly. We've had no problems since then.

Man that's great!!! Just like in NASCAR!!! Git yerself a custom made racing shoe from one of the teams in Kannapolis or Concord, chip yer MH, learn to draft, make only left turns, and enjoy that heat on yer foot knowing yer hammer down driving for the checkerd flag.
And while yer at it, tell the DW'er travelin partner to go back and make ya a samich and a cup'o joe while yer workin hard a drivin. No driver in NASCAR can do that!
Happy camping!!! See ya'll down the road!!!

Sounds like the doghouse just isn't seated properly.

Somewhat unusual in the Fords, as their van engines sit farther forward than Dodge - we had an old Chinook on a Dodge chassis and talk about hotfoot!! Previous owner had added insulation of various kinds and I still got a very hot driving foot. Just the nature of the beast.

Not really unusual for the V10's, search on the forum for Ford hot floor or similar and you'll see lots of posts. Usually its on the passenger side but I guess it could be drivers too. Lots of suggestions to help it but the easiest is to turn on the AC to MIX, which puts cool air down to the floor. The correct fix seems to be take up the carpet and put the extra insulation under it, also line the doghouse with insulation material. I have the same problem but my wife just puts her feet up on a small platform to keep off the floor. It really isn't too much of a problem most of the time.

My rig came with rubber mats which caused me to also get a hot foot. I bought thick carpet mats. Now I have happy feet.

There is a groove on the cover and a lip on the chassis that are supposed to fit tightly together. there is also a seal strip on it. Fitting the tongue and groove together tightly helped my situation alot.
