We use are TT about 4 times a year, I would say it sits for 3-4 weeks then its out for a long weekend. When I get home I drain the water heater, I just think the water would get nasty sitting in there.

I guess it is a sealed system so leaving in there would be no big deal I guess.

What do you all do?

Thoughts?

Mine sits all summer......without problems. If it seems stale, I flush it.

If you dry camp, you might want to check it prior to leaving...flush it out at the house, it's only 6 gallons!.....would seem to be easier than pulling the plug each time.

If you don't want to fill your gray tank....use the outdoor shower connection (if you have one) and let it flush out on the lawn....or water some flowers!

I pull the plug if it's going to be more than 4 weeks until the next trip...

I drain before winter (while winterizing TT) leave the plug out, replace plug and fill a few days prior to the first trip of the season.

I drain mine if it is going to be more than 3-4 weeks before I use it again. Especially if it has well water in it.

I left it sit for awhile once, and it went funky! Smelled horrible. That's my reason for draining...

I drain mine always. It's easy to switch out the drain plug with a petcock valve so draining couldn't be easier. Another simple way is to open the low-point water drain valves & then either flip up the pressure relief valve or open one of the sink valves so the water will drain.

I think I'm going to add this Look at the Pictures toward the bottom" and drain it each time.

Thanks
