In the past 6 months I have had water build up in the tent section of my front fold down bunk, maybe 3-5 gallons. It has occured when the bunk is folded up, during the winter not a big deal, it was frozen, this past weekend was a different story, water was everywhere after I folded down the bed.

I have not been able to see any signs of leaks, on the roof, even after a good spring cleaning. Has anybody else had this water problem? thought on tracing the cause? On common factor is that my camper was sloped down hill on both occasions.

We never have. No leaks yet in 50,000 miles.

Try looking at where seal hits front, with door open. Can you see mark all the way around from seal being squashed on front? We can. If you see a spot that doesn't show seal, suspect leak there.

Might try putting dollar bill in door seal, tighten door as usual, see how hard it is to pull out dollar. Just like checking seal on fridge.

Hope you find leak!

Wetting my front bunk – User error or a real leak?

User error..... lighten up on the beer after diner and be sure to use the bathroom before bed. That should eliminate the "wetting my front bunk."

5 gallons is a big deal. If the leak is tiny it'll take a long time to accumulate this much water. It will destroy your trailer quickly.

Bed seals are always the first suspect, the cap area is another potential leak spot.

I has a pressure test run this spring and the areas of potential water entry were astounding! Seven (7) tubes of caulk were needed. Test was inexpensive at the dealer in March when they had plenty of time and little work.

Chuck,
Do you have any information posted on the "pressure test" you mentioned having done. I am curious about what that involved, and what you ended up finding. Thanks,
Tim

I called 5 or 6 places around me that all said they didn't have the equipment to run the test and that they just "eyeball it." I think it was Gaffer that made his own setup to test his.

I'm afraid that's what my 3 year old is going to do.

I just came back from a camping trip and the people in the spot next to me had the same problem. After a short discussion I seen what the problem was, they were letting part of the tent end cover the gasket. I gave them a short demonstration and they were amazed as to how easy it was to fold the ends up.

We had the same thing - which was undetected for years and caused water to flow under the floor but between the membrain.

One summer later - wow no floor when we were camping.

This is a problem with rain coming in front the front, if the rubber seal isn't sitting correctly.

I would check under your trailer to see if the membrian is okay and not full of water.
