On the last trip, my daughter woke up with ants in her bed. I looked at the outside to see where they came in from. They came up the stabilizer jack and up the corner of the TT. What can I do in the future to keep them from getting on/in the camper?

Put a band of insecticide on the jack and on other stuff that touches the ground such as hoses and electrical cords. I use a chalk-like stick of pyrethrins that I got at the local Chinese dollar store. I suppose a quick squirt of Raid would do as well.

We use the powder from Walmart, it works well and don't just wash off when it rains. I sprinkle it around everything that touches the ground.

Sprinkle a fairly even coat of the cheapest Comet type powder evenly around the perimeter of the RV - and heavily around jacks, hoses, tires, (anything that rests on the ground). You should refresh this after a rain but it is cheap. Terro ant killer placed inside (per instructions)will get the ones all ready inside but it may take a couple of days. In the meantime, spray all of the little devils you see with a good ant spray.

You can also purchase some spray from Lowes or HD called home defense. It is ready to use and has it's own pump. After you set up, spray a perimeter line around your rig and spray everything that come in contact with the ground. We had a bad time with ants in Huntington Beach SP. They were not getting in from the ground...... THey were getting in from the trees! Down the limb, onto the slide, down the slide into the seal. I fixed this issue with spray!

I like to spray some ant poison on everything that touches the ground from the RV, jacks, hose, electrical cord, sewer hose, tires. Not the entire item just a ring around each so the ants don't climb past that point.

We've had great success with Hot Shot insect spray. Can be purchased most everywhere.
