What is a rear trac bar? How did you make one?

Got the Winegard Carryout up and running - 2 receivers, 1 extra input for second receiver installed by dealer (Veurinks), and activated through DISH for my RV. Went very well, especially after I hooked primary cable to Sat in coax instead of cable in coax ( ID 10 T, error).

Made my own windshield sun screen. $40 in material and another 40 for magnets. How’s it look?

Replaced the chassis battery. Sam's Club had them on sale for $85. Had the chassis AC recharged. Loose fitting finally let go and lost the charge. Installed new window felt on the front windows to eliminate road rattle.

I took the old girl in for her annual state mandated safety inspection. She passed with flying colors, as expected.

You might have read about the rear trac bar on here. It is put on the gas f53 chassis to help with the wandering. I was getting an aliegnment and found the bracket for the frame there. The bracket for the rear end I had manufactured at a steel manufacturing site. It was made out of 1/4 inch steel. The cross bar I found at tractor supply. It comes in different lenghts.
If you go to oemys-performance.com and click on trac bar you will see what I have done. It will also give you a diagram that you can use. I had to blow it up and then crawled under to make sure it would fit. The distances are correct if you lay down the template on the piece of steel you had cut out. Let me know if you have anymore questions.

After finally tiring of stepping over sleeping teenagers to make a pot of coffee in the morning I converted the bedroom from a double, to 2 twins & a rollaway trundel. Next week on South Padre, we'll find out if it was worth it.

Installed new starter and re-attached the chassis ground wires. All finished and noticed I had forgot to install the cleaned ground wire from the starter mount to the chassis frame. To tired to go back and install it today. It stinks not being able to do my own work at a better pace. I also installed new wiper blades and a new cup holder to replace the broken one on the passenger side wall. I still need to change the oil and filter and clean up the ground mounted behind the suction fuel filter. A Spartan goof in my opinion. The wiring should not be hard to access.

The good news: I think I finally tracked down the source of the squealing noise I had believed was a serpetine belt or fan bearing problem on my CAT C-7. I verified it wasn't the belt by removing it completely and the noise was still there.
The bad news: It sounds like the turbo and there seems to be excessive play in the turbine the blades. It took me 5 hours to remove it, but on the bright side I soaked all the rusty exhaust manifold bolts/nuts with PB Blaster (that stuff is great) and they all came out with breaking. I'm sure I will be in for sticker shock when I order a new turbo on Monday, but at least my labor rate is affordable.

More bad news: Now that I have the turbo out, the tolerances appear to be within spec. I'm going to let the CAT dealer check it out to be sure, but this means I spent a lot of time under the MOHO and still haven't located the source of the noise. Once again, on the bright side I did learn a bunch of stuff about the operation of the turbo.
I'm leaning towards a transmission problem now and found a few internet hits related to a failing diverter valve causing noise similar to a belt squealing. Anyone have any experience with this?
Thx,
Lou
