If you live in FL, AL, MS, LA or TX during the Hurricane Season, (June through November) What do you do with your motor home, if not parked in a covered storage facility.

I am asking this question, because I enjoy the collage football games and we live in Florida. Some time in late June or July we make a run with the RV to North Georgia where we have a small lot. While making the away games we can stop and stay a night or two after a game if played near the North Georgia line.

But am I just nuts, what kind of evacuation plans if any do you have for your Motor Home?

Thanks In-advance for your in-put.

When we evacuated in the past we just took our trailer with us. There is ample warning of an approaching storm and the path is usually predicted with enough accuracy to let us know in which direction to head. We just made campground reservations in a safe area.

We don't have a motor home but have a travel trailer and we and the travel trailer get the heck out of dodge. Which we did twice last year just to be safe.

Yep, hook up to the TT and tow away when evacuating. Provides a place to stay, and ample room for our "stuff" that we want to keep should the unthinkable happen.

Use it to evacuate. Covered storage doesn't mean squat to a hurricane.

In 2008 we had our MH parked at our place in Rockport. National Weather Service predicted a direct hit between Corpus Christi and Rockport. 48 hours before predicted landfall, we moved inland to Austin just in time to see the storm turn "hard right" and make a hit on Galveston.

Go figure.

During season we keep ours topped off with fuel, water and LP. Ready to jump in and hit the road. I don't plan to stay around with anything cat 3 or larger.

The motor home is our evacuation machine and so much more comfortable than a hotel room!

If unable to evacuate, we filled all our tanks with water and parked the TT away from trees. But would rather get out of dodge.
