Howdy fellow travelers. Perhaps you might offer some help. Our Komfort has been living in the sun a lot and the awning is going south. Could any of you offer any advice about pulling the old tarp out of the hardware and pulling the new tarp in? Thanks in advance.

I just had mine replaced 2 days ago. First of all its a two man job.
Second of all you have to buy the new fabric which matches your width and it comes with slides sewn in for the roller and where it attaches to the RV.

After watching the service man take mine down of the MH, install the new fabric and reinstall the awning.......I am glad I paid someone to do it while I watched.

it isn't a easy job, and is much easier to replace a new tube assembly...

it is a two man job if both are experienced, but three might be better...

there are instructions available on the web from the mfg...

be careful the springs are very powerful and can easily get away from you...

if paying a shop to do it you will most likely be charged 1 ½ to 2 hours at the shop rate for each tech…

Send me an e-mail and I will reply with the A&E Awning Replacement Manual PDF. It contains instructions on how to replace the fabric and also how to tension the springs.
You can get my e-mail by clicking on my profile at the left of this post or by clicking on my website link in signature below.

My business associate just had the awning tarp replaced on his C and the labor was about $125. He read the instructions for DIY and decided the labor was money well spent.

I got mine installed today, did material only, and it wasn't so bad, the torsion spring on the left side(without lock)scared me because it was just a nail holding it while we bolted everything together.. It works well and glad I didn't pay the labor. It was going to be 3 hrs @ $96 per hour to install which I ended up saving.
