I am still having problems with the twin trumpet air horns mounted under the hood on my 1997 Itasca Suncruiser. I determined after checking it all out that the compressor was shot. These horns operate on a 12V compressor without a tank. I purchased a new compressor from Ebay. When I press the button on the dash the motor turns in the compressor but does not sound the horns. Is it possible that the new compressor does not generate enough air? PSI. I hooked up my portable 2 gallon compressor to the hose and it produced a very loud blast from the horns. Maybe I have answered my own question???

Indeed, I believe you answered your own question. Though I am not an expert by any means, I suspect your need mores volume and less pressure. Again, just a guess.

air horns or air tools, need not only pressure 40-100lbs, they also need volume, they need XXcubic feet of air per minute at that 40lbs etc.., the literature on your horns should state the volume of air-flow needed

Thank you for your valued input. All is well. The horns are now working. The top cover plate screws were slightly loose causing an air leak. It is a new compressor and I assumed eveything would be tight.
Thanks.
