A few yrs ago I read on this forum about RV painting in Los Algodones. After researching and visiting the painter there twice, we took our 39 foot RV and our 76 CJ5 to have painted.
I must say I spent two weeks longer there than I expected. We stayed on the U.S. side of the border in a travel trailer and I crossed every morning and spent the day at the paint shop. We were there all of April.
I also had the Jeep re-upholstered, with new hi-back front seats from a Mex junk yard. I saw lots of his other projects and this guy, Carlos, is really good at what he does!
Estevan the carpenter I used actually worked at the Rexhall factory for 9 yrs. He now lives back home in L. A. Mex and has a little work shop where he does great finish work. He made us some new cabinets, remodeled another, made a desk and converted a cabinet into a closet and a closet into a washer/dryer cabinet.

I would love to pick up an older Jeep to use as a dingey and have painted to match our coach.
Lots of prep before paint ever flows. And the better the prep job, the better the completed project!!
My Dad was a 'paint and bump' man in Los Angeles for 40 years. Lots of talent in that business. More than people give credit for!!

I think I've heard of Carlos before. Does he also do fiberglass body repair? I've wanted to repair a couple of OOPS on my coach and get it repainted for awhile now

Carlos does upholstery, the paint shop is owned by Manny and is called Amador's paint. He does do lots of fiberglass repairs. He did some on my coach.His cell # 928-503-0400,speaks English, there is also another paint shop in town that does RV's and custom paint called Navarro's, and I think if I had to do over again I would try Navarro's. BUT Carlos is the guy for upholstery and he can be found at Amador's. If someone is interested in using him I can provide you with his son's E-mail address because he has no U.S. phone #. The finish carpenter, Esteban, also has a U.S. cell # and speaks English his # 928-920-2706. Any of these guys can come over to the U.S. side of the border to give you an estimate.

I paid $8,500 total for both the Jeep and RV. The price in the states for a complete paint job for this size RV is over $16,000
without the Jeep. RV and Jeep were stripped down and primerd. He used four colors, three coats each plus three coats of clear. He used the best paint, R-M which is not available in Calif. painters can only use water base paint here. This paint in Arizona, is about $300.00 a gallon, and I also had the white pearl which uses double the paint. Everything that could be removed from the RV and Jeep were, you can see on the Jeep pic here. All needed body work done, both Jeep and RV. All storage bins and door jams were painted along with the designs on to the slides. Roof was repainted white. Also the interior floor board and under the hood of the Jeep were sprayed with bed liner.
The upholstery work was $250.00 for the Jeep and RV door.
The cabinet work was $350.00 for his labor I provided the Oak and necessary material.
We are returning the last week in Sept. we are having Carlos redo all our window coverings,dining chairs,over head running board and our J-lounge in ultra leather. He quoted $800.00 for the complete job!
The mural on the other bus cost the owner $300.00. There are street artists in town that paint murals and portraits. They use spray paint, they are unbelievable! This mural was done with only white and black spray paint cans. The artist comes out to the paint shop when the rest of the coach is done, before the clear coat, he does the mural then the clear coat is shot over the whole RV.If you want just a mural just talk to the street artist in town and negotiate what you want. They can do ANY mural they are great.
